چکیده

The idea behind the experiments in section 4.1 of the main paper is to demonstrate that, within a single framework, varying the features can replicate the jump in detection performance over a ten-year span (2004 2014), i.e. the jump in performance between VJ and the current state-of-the-art. See figure 1 for results on INRIA and Caltech-USA of the following methods (all based on SquaresChnFtrs, described in section 4 of the paper):

Ten Years of Pedestrian Detection, What Have We Learned?

Paper-by-paper results make it easy to miss the forest for the trees. We analyse the remarkable progress of the last decade by discussing the main ideas explored in the 40+ detectors currently present in the Caltech pedestrian detection benchmark. We observe that there exist three families of approaches, all currently reaching similar detection quality. Based on our analysis, we study the comple...

Individualness and Determinantal Point Processes for Pedestrian Detection: Supplementary Material

In this supplementary material, we describe experimental results which were not included in the paper due to the page limitation. Comparisons of NMS, QUBO, and the proposed method are provided in Section 1. A sensitivity analysis of parameters is reported in Section 2. Section 3 shows the effectiveness of the proposed quality and similarity term design by comparing it to other models. Fig. 1. D...

Supplementary material for: Statistical and Spatial Consensus Collection for Detector Adaptation

The aim of this supplementary material is to provide further experimental details which were not included in the main article due to space limits (Sec. 2) and to give more details concerning the choice of our proposed RANSAC-like optimization strategy (Sec. 3). Specifically, in Sec. 2 we show further results, obtained with the CUHK Square Test dataset only in which we partially corrected the an...

Pathophysiology of Ischemia/Reperfusion-induced Myocardial Injury: What We Have Learned From Preconditioning and Postconditioning?

Organ damage after reperfusion of previously viable ischemic tissues is defined as ischemia/reperfusion injury. The pathophysiology of ischemia/reperfusion injury involves cellular effect of ischemia, reactive oxygen species and inflammatory cascade. Protection against ischemia/reperfusion injury may be achieved by preconditioning or postconditioning. In this review, we discuss basic mechan...

A Two Phase Approach for Pedestrian Detection

Most of current pedestrian detectors have pursued high detection rate without carefully considering sample distributions. In this paper, we argue that the following characteristics must be considered; 1) large intra-class variation of pedestrians (multi-modality), and 2) data imbalance between positives and negatives. Pedestrian detection can be regarded as one of finding needles in a haystack ...
